ADATA SSD ToolBox is a collection of utilities intended to monitor disk health, update SSD firmware, wipe data securely and increase their performance. As its name suggests, the product was designed specifically to work with ADATA solid-state disks (SSD). However, it also supports other SSD brands and even traditional hard disks.

Its main interface is very straightforward. It has buttons on the left side, which work as tabs that allow finding the desired feature quite easily. Although it may look attractive to some people, in my opinion, the excessive number of colors makes it look rather unprofessional. In this respect, a change to a more traditional palette could contribute to increasing the users’ trust in this tool.

The program detects the disks installed on your computer as well as their logical partitions. It instantly displays such basic information as temperature and health. And, if you want to take a deeper look, you can also check the SMART details of your disk. There is also the possibility of running two kinds of scans: quick and full, which, as you may have guessed, differ on the necessary time and the accuracy of the report.

Some other utilities are included in ADATA SSD ToolBox. One of them helps you protect your privacy by securely wiping unnecessary data on the selected disk. Likewise, it can upgrade the disk’s firmware. In addition, there is an SSD Optimization utility that supports the Trim command. Finally, the OS Optimization utility supports two modes: Basic and Advanced. Depending on the mode chosen, it performs various operations as automatic defragmentation and Superfetch implementation.

All in all, a collection of utilities as those included in ADATA SSD ToolBox is vital to detect various types of issues with your disks, which may lead to unexpected crashes and the resulting data losses. Although there are many similar programs, most of them are not specifically made for SSDs. So, it is a good idea to at least try this product, which is, by the way, absolutely free.
